Where do I find the user name and activation code? |
|
On the validation screen when you
launch MIMS on your PDA. Click
here to see some screenshots to help you identify
these details or how to bring up the validation screen
manually. |
:: |
Does
my device need to be connected to a computer for
the validation process? |
|
No. After receiving a validation code
from us, simply tap in the code on the validation screen
(by launching MIMS or Interact on your device). |
:: |
How often
do I need to perform an update? |
|
In response to user feedback, we have
changed the timing of the database expiry. From the
August 2005 update onwards, the MIMS on PDA database
will expire 12 months after an update has been done.
This change does not affect the subscription expiry
date. Users are strongly urged to keep up-to-date information
by updating MIMS on your PDA on a monthly basis.
Technically, the Software Licence to which you have agreed states that the licence to use MIMS on PDA transfers automatically to each new issue while your subscription remains current.
If you choose not to keep your data current, you accept the responsibility that accompanies using an expired product. |

How do I request a validation code if my employer has bought a MIMS institutional licence? |
|
- Download and install the appropriate version of "MIMS on PDA" onto your PDA. This is the only time which you need to connect your PDA to your computer.
- Launch MIMS on your PDA and write down the username/device name and the activation code as shown onscreen.
- Click on the "Hospital User" or "Institutional User" on the left hand menu on this website.
- Read the instruction on the webpage and click on the link to open the request form.
- Fill in the request form and click on the appropriate help link if needed. Enter the username/device name and activation code that you have previously noted down. Remember that you may only use a private email address if a unique id is supplied to you by your institution otherwise the work email is required.
- The validation code will arrive in the designated email within an hour. If nothing arrives, please fill in the form again and double check the email address or call our support line for assistance.
- Retrieve the validation code from the email and enter it on the validation screen where the username and activation code was shown on your PDA. Please click here for help if it doesn't show up automatically.

Do I need
to delete or uninstall the software before doing an
update? |
|
Yes and No.
Yes, you may need to do this to install
an update when you have low memory resources, or to
remove the files from main memory so you can access
the database files from your Storage Card. Click
here to read the background information and the
instructions to do so.
No, to update the files, simply download
the new MIMS on Palm file from our website. Double click
on the downloaded file to extract the 4 data files and
sync those to your PDA. This should carry over your
previous licence details and reactive MIMS. |
